Too often, people treat their bodies like machines, following routine workouts that lack passion and enjoyment—for both themselves and those they train with. That's why I've dedicated myself to teaching and competing in Olympic Weightlifting. It gives me purpose in the gym and allows my training to carry more meaning. Traditional gyms can feel mundane, filled with individuals mechanically moving through motions without purpose. You might be asking yourself, "Why should I delve into Olympic Weightlifting?" Well, I ask, "Why not?" With a mere century to embrace life's adventures, why not explore the realm of athleticism?
I started Olympic Weightlifting because I missed the days of playing sport and feeling part of a team. When entering the workforce, it is hard to maintain that sense of community, and the body struggles to do the same things it used to do. I pivoted and found that Olympic Weightlifting gives me the same sense of community but is much easier to fit into my schedule. This constant practice of a hard skill helps me forget about the stress of the day and gives me purpose. I teach all lifting movements you need in the gym to give you the best workout possible, but I promise you’ll enjoy learning something new.
